This is Cornwall's forgotten corner here on the beautiful Rame Peninsula, with spectacular sea and moorland views from our wild camping site. Unusual local flora and fauna includes deer, owls and skylarks.
We run a 'Wild eco friendly site' where we offer basic facilities, showers, loos and fantastic views. We don’t have pitches so you can choose where you would like to camp but please be aware of others views and personal space. We are in a high and exposed area so we do recommend that you bring lots of warm clothes and find a sheltered spot next to a high hedge especially if you are staying for more than just a few days. There are 3 camping areas, Quiet camping, Family Camping and Group Camping (it is essential you camp in group camping if you are a group/family group having a get together so as not to disturb others who prefer quiet camping). You will find fire pitches on site and logs can be bought in sacks from behind the reception shed.
Fairly priced well equipped yurts (sleep 4) are also available with rugs, pots and pans, cutlery, crockery, double mattress, woodburners and gas stoves.
On Friday and Saturday evenings from 6 – 10pm great home made food is available from the Maker meal hut next to the the reception shed.
The Canteen at Maker Heights is a café/restaurant run by River Cottage chef Nick who serves up delicious dishes using local produce at fair prices on the camp site.
The Family Foraging Kitchen frequently run wild food/foraging walks from the camp site. Private 'wild edible' walk bookings can be made for when it fits best into your holiday plans. Call Vix on 01752 823424 or email: email@example.com
The Somerville Gallery is now open in the Guardroom at Maker featuring local artists.
We are a short walk from the Villages of Kingsand and Cawsand where there are beaches, shops, pubs and cafes + cash machine.
Millbrook is just down the hill with supermarkets, shops, fish and chips, cafe, newsagents and hardware + cash machine.
Plymouth is just a ferry ride away from Cawsand or Cremyl. Visit the historic Barbican, Plymouth Hoe, Aquarium and shopping centre.
